10 Secrets Visionary Entrepreneurs Know to be True

One of my passions is to travel the world and I love it that my business gives me the freedom and the opportunities to do so.

Whenever I am in a city like Paris I always find the time to go to one of the highest points in the city, like the Eiffel Tower. I take time to stand in the highest place and look all around me, as I can see for miles. It’s amazing what you can see from the top of the Eiffel Tower versus what you can see from the street view.

I reflect on this expanded vision… What do I see from this perspective that I can’t see from the street below? It’s during these types of personal experiences that I start to think about my business. What’s possible for me, and my business, if I look at things from a higher perspective? What’s just a few more miles down the road from where I am currently?

This kind of big vision perspective is what helps me to think bigger and expand my business with a sense of assurance that what I’m looking to do next will be successful. When you’re that high up – you get really clear about your purpose and realize you have much more value to give.

Having been a business coach and trusted advisor to highly successful visionary entrepreneurs – who work as coaches, consultants, speakers, and in the professional service industry – here are 10 secrets I’ve seen that they all know to be true. In fact, knowing these secrets is what separates the highly successful, growing business owners from the ones who are barely getting by.

1). Have a 20 Mile Vision: You must have a big vision and focus on making it a reality. It’s like my example of looking out from the Eiffel Tower, you need to think at a higher level to build a higher-level business. Something that helps is having a written down vision of what you want your business, and your life, to look like by next year. Then instead of getting distracted by daily concerns, you focus on daily execution to obtain those desired end results. (No excuses! J)

2). Implement a 90-Day Revenue-Generating Plan:  You start with a vision but you need a plan to make it a reality. A 90-day revenue-generating plan is one of the best ways to stay the course. Every week you schedule time to focus on your main objective, which should include meeting with prospective clients. You do a review every 90 days to make sure you’re progressing towards your vision because it’s the execution of the plan that brings in the big revenue and profits.

3). Enjoy Their Extraordinary Life: You realize that your time is your most precious thing in life. You’ve built into your business time to pursue your passions – each week, each month and each year. You take time off to enjoy your life, spend time with your family and friends, immerse yourself into a new hobby and take time to yourself. No one wants to hire someone who is overworked and exhausted.

4). Invest In Themselves: You invest in your own professional development. You treat yourself by taking a new course to stretch you or by investing in a business advisor to help you overcome your blind spots. You know that the only way to the top of the summit is by asking for help from others who have been there and done what you are trying to do. You understand that you are a blue-chip investment and that the return on investment will keep accelerating you forward for a lifetime.

5). Belong to the Right Inner Circle: You surround yourself with people in a group program, mastermind or social group who inspire you, energize you, stretch you to think bigger, believe in you, and have an abundance mindset to help you grow your business.

6). Practice Resiliency: You practice resiliency every day by not letting roadblocks divert you off course. You set your day up every morning with a positive, optimistic mindset and undertake your day’s work with the assurance of success. This, in turn, allows any obstacle in your path to make you stronger, more resilient and help you more rapidly achieve higher levels of success.

7). Leverage Their Time With a Supportive Team: You spend the majority of your workweek on revenue-generating activities, marketing and working with clients. You take time each week to work in your business to allow your creative juices to flow in terms of what’s next in your business. In order to prioritize your time to work in your business and on your business, you have a team you can rely on to take care of some of the busy work so you can stay focused on priorities.

8). Confidently Use Powerful Language: You exude confidence in your ability to hold the bar high, by providing long-term and transformational results to clients who work with you. You utilize powerfully framed language in your marketing materials and in your strategy sessions.

You are so confident, new clients believe without a shadow of a doubt, that you can help them achieve big results.

9). Believe the “How” Will Show Up When They Need It: You don’t worry overmuch about how you are going to do it, when you know it’s something you’re capable of doing at a high level of service. You know that if this is new work your clients want you to deliver, the “how” will show up if you ask for help. This is because you already have a solid foundation, and a 5-star team, generous colleagues, or a business coach who you can reach out to, to show you the way.

10). Understand Prioritizing Magnetizes Results: You set the right priorities to ensure a favorable outcome. It’s easy to be busy – it’s hard to prioritize. Yet you know you have to focus over 80% of your time on revenue-generating activities that get you the most bang for your buck. This might mean focusing on closing large corporate proposals or educating your clients on how they can move into your next premium signature program.

Understanding these secrets can change the trajectory of your business velocity overnight. With perseverance, hard work and the right mindset you’ll achieve predictable results – I guarantee it. The time is now to step up and start implementing these secrets as your own.

Your Challenge for this Month: Go to a tall building or view in your city, and look around at what’s familiar to you from a whole new perspective. Then reflect on your business. Look at it from a new, higher angle and determine what you can do now to achieve higher levels of success tomorrow.
