Great Marketers Know These Powerful Secrets…Do You?

To be good at marketing, you have to love marketing. True or false? If that statement was true, most entrepreneurs would be in trouble! I see this with my clients all the time. They just want to focus on their particular talent, not on marketing their products and services.

Whether you’re an image consultant, a personal trainer, a professional development coach, or whatever your field of expertise is you must also be a marketing expert. Even if you have others on your team to help you market your business, as the CEO of your business, marketing needs to be number one on your agenda.

A business cannot survive without clients or customers who want your products and services. Does the thought of embracing marketing as your top priority make you cringe? Success comes from knowing how to turn that mindset around to one that will serve you. That’s what all successful entrepreneurs, who are also successful marketers, have trained themselves to do.

Once you learn the secrets to great marketing you’ll start to enjoy it more. Instead of being that thing you dread, you’ll embrace your role as a marketer.

Here are the secrets that great marketers believe…

They have something extraordinary the world needs. They’re true believers in what they’re offering to their clients. They cultivate this mindset in everything they say and do. If you don’t believe in what you’re selling, that will seep into your marketing. Your thoughts are your most powerful marketing tool, so start thinking extraordinary thoughts.

They have to be 100% committed. They do what it takes to build a successful business and that includes marketing. They also understand that having unrealistic expectations and pie-in-the-sky dreams aren’t the ways to get there.  It always takes perseverance, hard work and a positive attitude to zigzag your way to success. Sometimes you have to do what it takes – if having a highly successful business is that important to you.

They learn from setbacks. When they have a setback, they don’t become paralyzed or live there long. They learn valuable lessons from missteps and turn them into empowering assets. The times a marketing technique doesn’t work are viewed as education not setbacks. So successful marketers just try something else. They don’t keep making the same mistakes over and over again. How will you leverage setbacks, knowing they are bringing you closer to your goal?

They have step into the discomfort zone to grow. Does it surprise you that top marketers, who appear to have it altogether, actually experience fear or uncertainty? Well, they do. But they don’t run from it or hide behind it. That’s the difference. They know that they have to step into the discomfort zone to deal with their fears head on. Maybe using video to market your business or writing your own book would be a great next step, but it’s out of your marketing comfort zone. It takes courage to step into unknown territory. Knowing that courage is not the absence of fear and anxiety, how will you forge ahead?

As we continue to stretch ourselves more and more studies show we become more confidence and step into our personal power. Never is this truer than in our marketing skills. And that’s the secret that all successful marketers know. Now you do too, so what will you do today that takes you a step closer to becoming one of the great marketers?
