What Tantalizing New Service Do You Need to Create to Keep Evergreen Clients?

We all know that it’s uber-expensive to keep finding new clients, but oftentimes we’re stuck on how to keep attracting evergreen clients. Once they’ve gone through our signature programs, we don’t know what to do next. So they move on to the next coach or consultant, when really we had so much more we could have helped them accomplish. This is a frustrating, and expensive problem.

Several years ago, I adopted a new practice in my business, which was to be constantly on the lookout for new ways to be of service to my long-time clients. In order for me to know what they needed, it required ongoing interaction with them. While I run masterclasses on need-to-know topics, speak at conferences where they’re in attendance, and interact with them on my private Facebook group, I pay attention to what they need. I see how topics around their mindset, marketing, business strategy, and value-based project fees keep coming up and how when they master these, they rise to higher levels of business performance.

Are you interacting with your current clients on a regular basis? Are you paying attention to what needs, wants and desires keep coming up for them? Sometimes all you need to do is ask! Ask your current clients what services they would love to see you offer. You might be surprised at their creative answers!

Last year, I was able to take what I had observed and create a new virtual learning series that I kicked off with great success. This year, I created a pilot of my new Illustra Business School Virtual Mastermind Group and now I’m selling it! (This private program is only for clients who have worked with me in the past around business coaching.) But here’s the thing…. I had a select group of clients to help me pilot it. That’s right! They provided me with feedback on how it was structured and what they needed from not only me, but from the whole group, to get real value, and stay engaged and energized so they wouldn’t feel disconnected working in their home offices.

So, what do you need to create next to keep your evergreen clients coming back for more?

I’m constantly asking my private coaching clients that question. When they’re focused on looking forward to what’s next, I’ve seen them move out of their comfort zone and develop new and deeper ways to expand their businesses with exciting results.

It’s best to create something new when you have some time off to think about what your clients need. So give yourself the time and space this month to give this some deep thought. To stimulate your creative juices here are five questions that you should consider in creating what’s next for your clients:

1). Something probably came to mind while reading this article… What is it? What new product or service are you excited about offering?

2). What new trends do you see evolving around your areas of expertise?

3). Which key challenges have been getting in the way of a bigger transformation for your clients that you could help them overcome?

4). What opportunities do you see to create new business revenue models like online programs, virtual learning opportunities, corporate trainings, etc.?

5). What do you see others offering your ideal clients that you could do just as well or even better?

Make a list of all of your answers, and then just select one to focus on right now. To help you make that big decision take into account, which idea:

  • Have you been obsessing about recently?
  • Frightens you to step out of your comfort zone but you know you could do it, if you knew how?
  • Answers the highest need that your clients have right now that you are currently neglecting?
  • Leverages your highest gifts, strengths, and talents?
  • Focuses on the work you love doing but with a different twist?
  • Provides the biggest transformational results and impact for both your client and YOU?

Once you’ve identified what you need to create next for your clients, take action! Move this from a dream to a reality.

When you make the commitment to launch a new idea, brainstorm with someone about it (like my clients do with me). Talk through the steps that are involved and the remarkable outcomes you’ll get from completing it.

As we head into the fall season, if you’d like some help determining what your next big idea should be, let’s set up a strategy session.
